On 4 June, ESPO Chairman Santiago Garcia-Milà was elected as the new President of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) for a two-year term. Mr Garcia-Milà replaces Grant Gilfillan, President of the Port Authority of New South Wales (Australia).
The Deputy Director General of Barcelona Port Authority has a long experience within IAPH, as he has hold the Vice-President position since 2009. Mr Garcia-Milà has also been chairing the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) since 2012; which allows him to be the first one to chair both organisations at the same time. ESPO and its members congratulate Mr Garcia-Milà for this new position and is looking forward to further strengthen its good collaboration with IAPH.
