Floating solar demonstrator installed in the Port of Leith

08 July 2024

The installation of a marine floating solar demonstrator aims to power Forth Ports’ headquarters buildings in the Port of Leith, in Scotland. This technology has a huge potential globally and is foreseen to reach a potential market of 4,000 GW of floating solar capacity.

The strategy focuses on developing world leading infrastructure at its ports to support the energy transition and generate high-quality green jobs. In this respect, investing in infrastructure not only helps achieving net-zero goals by 2042 but it also paves the way for emerging technologies.
