Felixstowe Port will acquire 100 self-driving trucks

29 May 2024

The Port of Felixstowe, a key component of Hutchison Ports’ network, will soon get an extra 100 battery-powered autonomous and self-driving known as Q-Trucks.

The delivery of the initial autonomous trucks began in September 2023, and the quayside implementation of the autonomous truck started in April 2024. These developments align with Hutchison Ports' commitment to decarbonisation, with the new equipment forming a crucial part of their strategy. The company has announced its UK ports' target to achieve Scope 1 and Scope 2 net-zero emissions by 2035, in line with global targets set by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
